There are three components of a CPU.
1. Control Unit (CU)
2. Arithmatic & Logic Unit (ALU)
3. Registers

Control unit : responsible for supervising the operation of the entire computer system.

Arithmetic/logic unit (ALU) : provides the computer with logical and computational capabilities.
