Answer: When cess was introduced, approximate Rs. 10393 crore was collected in first year. As per figure in year 2007, Rs. 23509 crore has collected in four years from 2004 to 2007 as primary education cess.

Amount collected as secondary and higher secondary education cess during the year 2008 to 2010 is as follow.
