RAID stands for Redundant Array of Independent Disk Drives. It require min 2 disk but max 32 disk in linux. RAID is the feature to which when any no of disk ( 1 to 31) goes to crash and we have at least one disk safe the data is maintain and can be accessed by the safe drive. Due to this type of feature in linux since 33 years the server like Google never goes to down for a single minute and the data is maintain properly. Source: CoolInterview.com
