Hard disk is a secondary storage device. and permanent storage device also.There are many hard disk types. In those, ATA Hard disks, PATA Hard disks, SATA Had disks, USB Hard disks & SCSI Hard disks. Source: CoolInterview.com

The harddisk drive in your system is the "data center" of the PC. It is here that all of your programs and data are stored.It is a permanent storage used in PC.

Types of Hard Disks

1) ATA - Advanced Technology Attachment
2) SATA - Serial ATA (Advanced Technology Attachment)
3) PATA - Parallel ATA (Advanced Technology Attachment)

Note:
1)The alphabets C-Z represents the partition of the hard
drive... not the types.

2) Primary master
Primary Slave
Secondary master
Secondary Slave

These are the connection types used to connect 2 Hard
Drives to a single IDE connector(using JUMPERS).
You can connect a single Hard Drive either as Primary
masterslave or Secondary masterslave...
(using JUMPER settings and choosing IDE connectors).

3)Number of Hard Drive connections depends on the Mother

Hard disk is a secondary storage device.its stores all the files and folders, operating system components etc.
hard disks are mainly two types
