    Planner and Shaper, both are analogous, but with slight difference. Planner is larger, and the whole workpiece moves beneath the tool, while in shaper cutter moves above the stationary workpiece.




    the ifferent between shaper and planer is planer table consist of work and receiprocating large work can be done easily tool is stationary shaper also receiprocating tool stationary small size can only done by shaper like us slot,T-slot mechanism used in shaper planer is crank and slot mechanism and open cross belt drive

    1. shaper has one tool head wherear planner has more than one tool head.

    2. In shaper, workpiece is stationary and tool reciprocates with ram. Whereas in planner ,workpiece rotate and tool stationary.

    3. Shaper is used for light work whereas planner is used for heavy work
