You along with another Officer is transporting a level 4 prisoner (level 4 is an extremely violent felon) to the jail. While driving south on Washington St., you notice a fatal accident between three vehicles on the corner of Penn and Washington St. One of the driver's involved in the crash was visibly injured, and trapped inside his vehicle. Witnesses at the scene flags you down to come and help. One witness even runs up to your patrol car and tells you that there is a severe oil leak underneath the trapped driver's car and the vehicle may explode.
What should be your next course of action as there is imminent danger if the driver is not helped out of his vehicle.
A. You should ignore the witnesses and continue with your assignment, which is to transport the prisoner to jail
B. Pretend that you didn't see the accident
C. Immediately exit your patrol car and run and assist the driver out of the vehicle before it explodes
D. Continue with your assignment to the jail, but radio in the accident with details of the severity of the crash so the proper personnel may be notified
E. Exit your patrol car, and tell your partner to continue to the jail, but you are going to help the driver out of the vehicle pronto.
