Question: You have the following Network ID: 131.112.0.0. You need at least 500 hosts per network. How many networks can you create? What subnet mask will you use?

Answer: Network Id: 131.112.0.0

It is class b Address

Hence default mask is 16.

We need 500 host per subnet.

So, we can take 7 bit from third octet in network and subnet mask will be 23.

And host per subnet will be 512-2= 510.

Hence ther will be 2x2x2x2x2x2x2=128 Network

We can create 128 network.

Subnet mask will be like this...

131.112.0.0
131.112.3.0

Network Id: 131.112.0.0
