There are few differences between Translate tables and prompt tables1. Translate tables have a max length of 4 char for each element. However, prompt table elements have no such limitation.2. There can be only 30 entries in a translate table. Where as prompt table can have n number of entries.

1)Translate table values are the static. where as prompt table values are the dynamic.2)Translate table values are from the buffer. where as prompt table values are from the database.3)Translate tables have a max length of 4 charecters. there is no field length restriction in Prompt table. 4)People soft recomonds don't use more then 40 translate values. In prompt table we can have n number of entries
