Structural testing is done by the developers of the project to ensure whether the product is bug free. They have knowledge about the coding or the algorithm involved. This is refereed as White box testing

Functional testing is done by the testers, those who only have knowledge about the functionality of the Application. They check the functionality as a end user and have no knowledge about the code. This is referred as black box testing
