usability testing is verifying that how easily the end user can use the application. We have to test this in such a way to make the application easy to use. GUI (graphical user interface) is verifying the User interface of the application i.e. the options, functions, front end design, font color, Text format, Labels, background, foregroung Etc. This is the process of verifying the look and feel environment of the application.
User interface testing is very imp for web applications. Because No.of visitors are more so we have to check the front end design very carefully. Source: CoolInterview.com

in usability testing we check for user friendliness of the application.(i.e how easily use can access the application)but in GUI testing we check for the front end design of the application meets the software standards or not. Source: CoolInterview.com
