J2EE Stands for Java 2 Enterprise Edition.
J2EE is an environment for developing and deploying enterprise applications.
The J2EE platform consists of
1] a set of services,
2] API [application programming interfaces]
3] protocols,
which provides the functionality necessary for developing multi-tiered, web-based applications.

J2EE Stands for Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition. J2EE is a platform-independent, Java-centric environment from Sun for developing, building and deploying Web-based enterprise applications online. The J2EE platform consists of a set of services, APIs, and protocols that provide the functionality for developing multitiered, Web-based applications.

J2EE(Java 2 platform enterprise edition) to simplify application development in a thin client tiered environment. J2EE simplifies application development and decreases the need for programming and programmer training by creating standardized, reusable modular components and by enabling the tier to handle many aspects of programming automatically.
